Dear USD 360 TextCaster Subscriber:
THIS EMAIL CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR
TEXTCASTER SERVICE - PLEASE READ IN ITS ENTIRETY.
You are receiving this email because the district has utilized TextCaster to keep you up
to date about important school information. Since we started using TextCaster the goal
has been to deliver text message content quickly and reliably to you who opt-in to receive
it. TextCaster has shared that they will continue to work diligently with all of the wireless
carriers to ensure that your messages are delivered without delay.
Over the years, TextCaster has implemented, at their cost, direct peer-to-peer binds with
Tier 1 carriers AT&T, Verizon, US Cellular, and Sprint. Although TextCaster has
repeatedly tried to reach an agreement with T-Mobile, an agreement has never been
Throughout the recent T-Mobile acquisition of Sprint, TextCaster contacted T-Mobile
again in an effort to enhance text message delivery to its customers. Unfortunately, T-
Mobile declined the proposal and instead proposed a per-message fee structure that
would, if implemented, drive TextCaster out of business. As you may be aware, T-Mobile
messages currently sent through TextCaster system are now intermittently suppressed
Due to COVID-19 alerts and a large portion of the country working from home, world-
wide text message volume has increased substantially. To ensure prompt message
delivery to all subscribers, TextCaster is introducing a new mobile app that will
provide timely delivery of our content to subscribers who download and use
this mobile app. The new mobile app will replace SMS, and will be available for any
of our subscribers, regardless of which wireless carrier they use.
USD 360 recommends that all of you that are TextCaster subscribers immediately
transition to this new mobile app, to ensure timely message delivery.
