Staff (2009-10)

Administration

Superintendent and Secondary Principal-

Mr. Jamison received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1984 from McPherson College. He started teaching in USD 360 in August 1985 and served as a teacher/coach at Caldwell Junior/Senior High School until 1998. Mr. Jamison earned his Masters degree in secondary administration  from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1996 and served as an administrative assistant and teacher until taking over the 7-12 principalship 1998. In 2007 he began serving the district as both the secondary principal and superintendent of schools.  Mr. Jamison and his wife, LuAnn, have three children.

Pre K-5 Principal 6-12 Associate Principal

Mr. Bolden is entering his twenty-third year in education and ninth year in Caldwell.  Mr. Bolden loves the opportunity he has to serve in this community.  His goal is to have every child be successful in middle and high school.  Mr. Bolden and his wife, Patty, have one son Aaron; and two daughters, Jennifer and Whitney.  Mr. Bolden's hobbies include being a registered football and basketball official, working in the yard, cooking and following his beloved Chicago Cubs.  Go Cubbies!


Counselor

K-12 Counselor & Assistant Principal

Mr. Schmidt received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Emporia State University in 1991, Earned a Masters Degree in School Counseling/Psychology from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1998, and completed the School Leadership Licensure Program from Baker University in 2008 earning a Building Administration Certification.


Nurse

HS/MS/Elem Nurse- RN, BSN, CHPN

Vanessa Badley currently lives in Arkansas City, KS.  She have been married to my husband, Kipper (yes, that is his real name), for 10 years.  She have 2 children – 1 son, Braydon who is 12 and 1 daughter, Myka who is 8.  She earned her bachelors degree in nursing from Southwestern College in May of 2000.  While being a school nurse has been her dream since she was in nursing school, her work history has varied.  After earning her degree and obtaining her nursing license, she went to work at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center then, the Kansas Veterans Home and finally, Hospice Care of Kansas. 
She is looking forward to being given the opportunity to assist in promoting the health and safety of the students of USD 360.  Her goal for this year is simple.  To keep as many students as possible in class, not at home sick.
Her door will always be open to anyone who may have questions or concerns regarding their health.


High School Teachers

Technology Teacher- 

This is Mrs. Custer's seventh year teaching at Caldwell Schools.  She teaches Computer Applications I, Web Page Design I and II, Desktop Publishing/Newspaper I, II, and advanced, 7th grade Intro. to Computer, and 8th grade Computer Apps.  She is co-sponsor of KAYS and TSA, freshmen class sponsor, and Activities Dir. and the Freshman Class Sponsor. Mrs. Custer's hobbies are water sports, gardening, and her family.  She lives in Anthony with her husband, Keith.  They have two children and three grandchildren.

English Teacher- 

Mrs. FitzSimmons has been teaching English classes at Caldwell since 1996. She is the Senior Project coordinator, and Sophomore class sponser.  Mrs. FitzSimmons lives in Wellington with her husband, Lynn.  When she was asked what she likes most about her job, Mrs. FitzSimmons said, "Assigning projects that allow students to demonstrate their creativity."

Vocal Teacher-

Mrs. Flaherty has been teaching in Caldwell for nine years and has been in education for twenty-one years. Mrs. Flaherty teaches mornings in South Haven and afternoons here in Caldwell this year.
While here, she would like to build a music program that is not only informative but fun.  Being with children, doing what she loves and getting paid to do it is the best part of her job.  Mrs. Flaherty enjoys doing crafts and baking pies for a local restaurant in Medford.  She and her husband, Tim, have two sons; Ryan and Tyler and a granddaughter.

Band & Videography Teacher-

As instrumental music director,  Ms. Reynolds teaches all band classes at Caldwell.  Her classes range from 5-12th grades and includes marching, pep, and concert bands.  She has been part of Caldwell Schools since 1994.  Ms. Reynolds appreciates having seniors in the high school band because they really help give a mature sound to the organization, are very disciplined, and serve as great role models.

Art Teacher- 

Arlene Wilson is excited to be teaching Computer Graphics and High School Art at Caldwell this year. She will be teaching Computer Graphics and Elementary Art at South Haven in the mornings and then travel to Caldwell for the afternoon classes. Mrs. Wilson earned her teaching degree from Oklahoma State University and has taught elementary art at Trout Elementary in Ponca City for the past seven years. She lives on a farm near Braman with her husband John and their two children, Luke and Sara.

Industrial Arts Teacher- 

Mr. Thurman has been part of Caldwell High School since 1977, serving as the industrial technology instructor and teaches half days at South Haven.  Mr. Thurman enjoys teaching students about information they haven't been exposed to yet.  He also loves seeing them become successful with projects they can be proud of, no matter what skill level. 

Math & English Teacher-

Mrs. Wolff has many jobs at Caldwell Schools.  Besides teaching math to grades 7-12, she is one of the math relays sponsors, Stuco, NHS, and junior sponsor and the QPA building chairman. Mrs. Wolff has been at CHS since 1983.  Her favorite part about her job is working with teenagers.  She ultimately wants to help students become productive citizens of society.  Somewhere along the way she wants to help them learn math and see its applications to everyday life.  Her two sons are graduates of CHS and on their own.

Math Teacher- 

Mrs. Barnes teaches math classes to grades 6-12.  She graduated from Fort Hays University and has taught at Caldwell since March of 2000. Mrs. Barnes coaches high school volleyball. She also sponsors math relays and is a senior class sponsor.   In her free time she enjoys reading, cross stitching, watching Cubs baseball, watching movies, and spoiling her nieces and nephews. 

Physical Education & Health Teacher- 

Mrs. McDorman teaches K-9  health/PE.  She has been here since 1984.  She loves working with the kids and watching them mature into young adults. Mrs. McDorman is Athletic Director and assistant coach for the middle school volleyball and basketball teams.

Science Teacher-

Mr. Neal teaches biology and junior high science.  He is also the head high school track coach, junior class sponsor, and cross country coach. Mr. Neal sponsors FCA and high school Scholar's Bowl. Mr. Neal has been here since 1998.  He says he loves being here at CHS.

Science Teacher- 

Mr. Teeter has been teaching science for eighteen years. He is the Sophomore class sponsor. He has been at Caldwell since 1999. This year Mr. Teeter travels to South Haven and teaches two classes in the mornings.
He has three kids.  His wife, Kristi, teaches at the Learning Center and teaches high school FACS. Mr. Teeter graduated from CHS in 1976. He is the defensive coordinator for the high school football program, and the high school assistant  girls basketball coach.

History Teacher- 

Mr. Jantz teaches history, government, and 6th and 7th grade social studies, and he is the senior class sponsor. He is also the head coach for the middle school boy's basketball team. He graduated from Hesston High School and also attended Hesston College. Mr. Jantz is in his fourth year of teaching and he is really enjoying the students and staff at Caldwell.

Title I and English

Mrs. Schmidt teaches Title I Reading in Kindergarten through fifth grade and sixth and seventh grade English. "I love living in Caldwell and enjoy spending time with my family." She is married to Kevin, and they have three children. "I love doing Title I because I get to work with so many different students."



Chisholm Trail Learning Center & FACS Teacher- 

Kristi Teeter is a graduate of CHS. She has taught for 27 years in the area of Vocational Family and Consumer Economics. She is the director of The Chrisom Trail Learning Center and is teaching FACS for middle school and high school. Mrs. Teeter is  married to David, another teacher at Caldwell High School. They have three children, Megan abd Kaile who attend Emporia State, and Mason, who attends the Caldwell Schools.

Resource Teacher- 

As a resource room teacher, Mrs. Johnston works with students who have special needs.  She has been at Caldwell since 1991.  Mrs. Johnston travels to South Haven two days a week and is also a KAY sponsor. She is married and has two sons. 

Gifted Teacher- 

Mrs. Sawyer works here at USD 360 as the Gifted Ed Facilitator.  When she is not working here she is working with students at the Argonia and South Haven Schools.    Mrs. Sawyer's goal is to encourage the students to take challenges and work to their potential.  Mrs. Sawyer is married to Randy, has two children, Monica, who graduated in '96 and Travis  in '99, both from Caldwell High School, and two granddaughters, Austyn and Avery.


Elementary Teachers

Kindergarten Teacher-

Mrs. Staci Schmidt has been in the education profession for 12 years.  This year she moved up from preschool to once again teach Kindergarten.  Her favorite part of the job is watching the children discover how sounds fit together to form words.  She also says “Working with young children is fun and you never know what to expect.  They come up with the funniest things.”  Mrs. Schmidt, her husband Shane, daughter Jordyn, and son Colt, live on a farm 6 miles west of Caldwell.

1st Grade Teacher-

For the past twenty-six years Mrs. Fitch has been teaching children at Caldwell. She is currently teaching first grade. Her favorite thing about her job is teaching students to  read and write and see the independence they acquire. She hopes to have a positive impact on every student she teaches. She wants to give them the self-confidence and skills they need to become a successful student.  Mrs. Fitch and husband, Kevin, have two children; Lindsey, and Kalen. Lindsey is attending graduate college at the University of Texas in Dallas and Kalen is attending college at K-State in Salina, Kansas.

2nd Grade Teacher-

Mrs. Rice has been here at CES for eleven years and in the education profession for sixteen years. She is also assistant coach for high school volleyball.
Being with the children and having the summers off are some of the "perks" of her job.  Making sure the students are working at their best potential and helping students enjoy and value the education they are getting are some of Mrs. Rice's plans on making CES a wonderful place.  Mrs. Rice and her husband, Scott, have three children; Logan, Lexie, and Corbin.

3rd Grade Teacher-

Ms. Weber is the third grade teacher.  She graduated from CHS in 1976.  She has been teaching for twenty-three years and she is beginning her twentieth year at Caldwell Elementary.  Ms. Weber received her masters degree in School Administration in May of 2002. much Ms. Weber helps with the after school program on Tues., Wed. and Thurs. to work on WebAchiever in preparation for the state assessments.

4th Grade Teacher- 

Mrs. Feely is the fourth grade teacher this year and has been  teaching for twenty-four years. She definitely enjoys being with the students each day and believes all kids can learn. She also believes that it is her job to make them want to learn. Mrs. Feely enjoys trying out and developing new strategies to help motivate the children to learn, even though it requires a lot of time.

5th Grade Teacher-

Ms. Latty is the fifth grade teacher and has been working in education for twenty-nine years. "Working with children creates an environment where every day is unique and special.  Because we live in a rural community, the school, parents, and community work closely to help children.  I enjoy that environment."  Ms. Latty's goal is to always help children acquire skills that allow them to feel pride in themselves.  

Secretaries
High School Secretary-

Mrs. Burdett is the high school secretary. She has been part of Caldwell Schools since 1997. "I love being around the kids." Mrs. Burdett is married to husband, Stan, and they have two daughters, both CHS graduates, four granddaughters, and one grandson.


Elementary Secretary-

Mrs. Thurman, CES secretary, has been here for thirty years.  Being able to work with such wonderful professionals in a great environment is what she enjoys most about CES.  Mrs. Thurman enjoys attending her kids' activities, walking, and is a member of St. Martins Catholic Church.  Mrs. Thurman and her husband, Dennis, have three children; Dennis Jr ("Butch"), April, and Amy.

District Secretary-

As District Secretary, and board clerk, Mrs. Lungren is in charge of all secretarial duties in the district office, and keeps minutes and information for Caldwell School's Board of Education.  She also runs all payroll and manages the financial budget and Federal Programs that the district takes part in.  Mrs. Lungren has been working for Caldwell Schools since 1991.  Seeing the technology changes that are affecting the way that children learn is what she enjoys most about her job.


Technology Department

Technology Coordinator-

Ms. Conrady is the technology coordinator for USD 360.  She works with all aspects of technology throughout the district.  She graduated from CHS in 1983 and has been a part of USD 360 staff since 1992.  Ms. Conrady has one son, Hunter.  Her favorite thing about her job is the fact it is always changing and always a challenge. She also enjoys the interaction with students.  "We drive each other crazy," she states.

CES Computer Lab-

Mrs. Thompson has lived in Caldwell for nine years. She has worked at CES for 3 1/2 years and wears many hats at the school. She is in charge of all the lunch accounts and runs the elementary computer lab and assists in elementary computer technology. She and her husband, Arcine, have two chidren, Arcine (LA) and Teagan. "I would have to say the thing I enjoy most about my job is when I am working with a student and the look on their face when they finally get something."


Para-Professionals

Para-

This is Mrs. McCabe's fifth year here in Caldwell school district as a paraprofessional, the first two years were in the pre-school. This is her second year working with middle and high school students. She moved to Caldwell in 1999. Mrs. McCabe is married to Brian and has five children. Joshua graduated from Caldwell High School in 2005, Megan graduated in 2008, Jesse, Katie, and Maddie are in 6th, 4th, and 3rd grades respectively.

Para-

Mrs. Kendrick moved to Caldwell in 1997 and has worked in the Caldwell School district since 2001. She and her husband, Mike, have two boys, Derrick and Trent.

Para-

Mrs. Mandevill has lived in Caldwell for 27 years. She graduated from Caldwell High in 1998 and really enjoys her job because she loves working with kids. Mrs. Mandevill is the middle school cheerleading coach.

Para-

Mrs. Barnes is in her fifth year as a para at Caldwell Schools and this is her fourth year as a cheerleading sponsor. She moved to Caldwell from Wichita five years ago and is enjoying being in the Caldwell school system working with the students. Mrs. Barnes is married to William "Woody" Barnes and has two boys, Daniel age 9 and Will age 6.
