School is started and we are having a great year. Enrollment has increased in the elementary mainly due to the large group of 25 Kindergarten students. We also have had some students move in and they are making a wonderful transition into CES.
The first day of school was August 22nd. All the students were excited for school as many parents dropped them off. A few tears were shed as parents left the building, but overall it was a great first day.
The next big event for the elementary school was “Back to School Night” on August 28th. During this night the parents and students went to the classrooms and listened to the teachers talk about procedures in the classroom. They also attended a Title 1 meeting in the gymnasium by Dani Schmidt and an update on education from Superintendent Alan Jamison. The classrooms had $10 Caldwell Buck card drawings on this night and winners included Candice Jackson, Paige Zulkoski, Kim Clark, Bryan Jarvis, Kristin Hutsler and Mistie Brown.
The K-5 students attended the High School Pep Rally on September 1st. They cheered and sang the school song to get the football team fired up for the game. The students were really excited to watch the football team as they won their game against Udall.
Picture day was on September 5th as the students looked dapper for their photos. This was a good day as the students did their best smiles for the camera.
Upcoming events at the school include grandparent’s week from September 11th-15th, the CES Spelling Bee on September 13th and 5th grade Farm Safety day on September 22nd.
